A last minute decision to paddle and after just pointing a finger at the map we headed to Porter. And what a journey it turned out to be. Really warm but with just a smidget of cloud cover taking the harshness out of the sun and very little boat traffic, this turned out to be one of the most memorable trips yet - oh and the up-lit blue cave was just the icing on the cake...

Cala Morell to Cala de' Algaiarens - Menorca
Maybe our last chance of a paddle on the north coast as the winds and seas are blowing up a little tomorrow. Cala Morell is an intriguing natural L shaped harbour. About 12km covered with a visit to another remote beach. This coastline is amazing and just keeps on giving... We finished with a pleasant hour snorkelling, it was like a tropical fish tank down there...

Circumnavigation of Cap de Cavalleria, Menorca
Menorcas biggest headland protruding out from the north coast. Probably quite a hostile place when the forecast is less than perfect but today's weather was so benign the only hazard was the constant barrage of motorised craft... Eight kilometres of great fun.... Amazing to see a pair of huge birds on the headland - Egyptian Vultures as far as we can gather..

Menorca - Bay of Fornells
Today we simply carried the boards down to the inland sea just 100 metres from our door, Here we slowly worked our way out onto the north coast and had fun discovering the coastline including many caves. Very hot so frequent dips in the sea were necessary. About 15 km covered which is more than enough on SUP boards.. Very proud of Anthony who stayed on his feet in some of the biggest boat washes we've ever experienced - even surfing some of them.... Fiona did good too..

Menorca Day 1
A bit of a slow morning but then we loaded the boards and headed to the south coast due to the northerly Mistral winds. A simple paddle from Sant Tomas towards Cala Galdana taking in several small coves.. We had to stay close in as the off shore winds where quite strong. Nice to explore the caves and coves.

Humber
A very benign and still day on the Humber. Chris is a very experienced sea paddler and has paddled all over the UK and beyond but never paddled this home water. It was great to fulfil that ambition for him today. Plan was to circumnavigate Reeds Island but with only a 5.9 metre tide and being delayed very slightly at the South Ferriby pub we had to turn back and cross the river east of the island. In fairness I think the sands have shifted and it had nothing to do with the second pint of Moretti... Chris, lovely to spend the day with you mate..

KKC Sea SUP Trip- Flamborough Head
With so many club members away on holiday and a settled forecast we thought we would mix it up a little by leaving the sea boats at home and inflate the SUPs . An amazing day, big seas caused by wind against tide in the morning, large over falls but flattened off over slack. Big respect to Emily and Wilson, our younger paddlers who did us proud today
